Achtergrond<\/b><\/h5>

IFPRO is een grootformaat printbedrijf met productiefaciliteiten in Porto Alegre en S\u00e3o Paulo, Brazili\u00eb. Met een gevarieerd printer- en snijmachinepark – waaronder Epson, Liyu, Handtop, Audley en meerdere snijsystemen – verwerkt IFPRO een grote hoeveelheid en verscheidenheid aan drukwerk op twee drukke productielocaties. <\/span><\/p>

Zoals veel ambitieuze printbedrijven was de complexiteit van hun omgeving groter geworden dan de tools die het bij elkaar hielden.<\/span><\/p>

Wat waren de problemen?<\/b><\/h5>

Groei is een goed probleem om te hebben – totdat de workflow het niet kan bijhouden. Bij IFPRO zorgde een combinatie van losgekoppelde tools, handmatige processen en inconsistente standaarden voor dagelijkse wrijving op de productievloer: <\/span><\/p>

  • Bestandsvoorbereiding was traag, handmatig en volledig afhankelijk van Adobe Illustrator<\/span><\/li>
  • Het sluiten van bestanden voor productie duurde veel te lang en veroorzaakte knelpunten<\/span><\/li>
  • Kleurnauwkeurigheid varieerde tussen verschillende printers en substraten<\/span><\/li>
  • Processen verschilden per taak, operator en locatie – zonder standaardisatie<\/span><\/li>
  • De productiesnelheid werd afgeremd door de tijd die verloren ging aan handmatige oplossingen en workarounds<\/span><\/li><\/ul>

    Het grootste knelpunt zat helemaal aan het begin van de workflow: bestandsvoorbereiding en standaardisatie. Voordat een opdracht kon worden geprint, moest deze door een langzaam, operator-afhankelijk proces dat weinig ruimte liet voor schaalvergroting. <\/span><\/p>

    IFPRO besloot om hun hele productieproces over te zetten op PrintFactory en hun gefragmenteerde stapel tools te vervangen door \u00e9\u00e9n uniform platform dat is gebouwd voor de eisen van professionele grootformaat productie.<\/span><\/p>

      Wat ooit gefragmenteerd, tijdrovend en afhankelijk van de operator was, is nu verenigd, gecontroleerd en schaalbaar.<\/span><\/p>
